One of the most glorious aspects of living in Sonoma County is our Springtime! Gardens are bursting with new plant growth, a profusion of blossoms fill the air with sweet and balmy fragrances, the land is soft and green and full from the rains of winter. Every day in my garden something new is happening: where just yesterday there was a pear blossom, today there is a baby fruit! What yesterday looked like a dull green stalk today displays a luscious deep purple iris blossom!

It’s also at this time of year that home & garden tours invite us to take a peak at the fruits of a homeowner’s time, money and passion given to being an artist with the land. Garden tours are most often held to benefit a non-profit enterprise in our community. Buying a ticket not only feeds our own curiosity and imagination but feeds the coffers of worthy organizations as well. A garden tour that I look forward to each year is the Western Sonoma County Spring Home & Garden Tour, benefiting Food for Thought—Sonoma County AIDS Food Bank, this year May 17.

Tours “spring up” in almost every community, providing an opportunity to explore or familiarize oneself with an area that one might want to live. What a great way to explore Sonoma County’s real estate! When you’ve spent the day viewing the array of glorious possibilities and you’ve decided a special corner of Sonoma County has your name written on it, call me to explore the options. I’ve lived in Sonoma County for more than 35 years and would be delighted to assist you in making a match.
